President Bola Tinubu is set to formally receive the Certificate of Return and the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The presentation ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja following the nationwide collation of results from the APC presidential primary elections.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the presentation will be conducted by the Presidential Primary Elections Committee in the presence of top party leaders and stakeholders.
The event is expected to attract APC governors, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the National Working Committee (NWC), members of the National Assembly and other influential figures within the ruling party.
The development comes after the APC conducted its presidential primary elections across the country, with President Tinubu emerging as the party’s candidate ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
The formal presentation of the certificate and party flag is regarded as a symbolic endorsement of Tinubu’s candidacy as the APC begins preparations for the next general election cycle.
The ceremony is also expected to serve as a major gathering of party leaders and supporters as the ruling party consolidates its structures ahead of the 2027 polls.
