Popular Mount Zion Gospel Film actor, Evangelist Moses Korede Arẹ́, known to many as ‘Baba Gbenro,’ has died at the age of 65.
His colleague, Seun Adejumobi, disclosed the news of his passing on Thursday, stating, “a general has gone to rest.”
In a heartfelt tribute, Adejumobi celebrated Baba Gbenro’s life as a lasting example of faith and purpose, describing the evangelist’s legacy as an inspiration to all who knew him.
“Rest on! Evangelist Moses Korede Arẹ́,” Adejumobi wrote, expressing profound respect and admiration for a man he described as having “lived a worthy life.”
He highlighted how Arẹ́’s life challenged others to live with integrity, pursue purpose, and keep eternity as their ultimate goal.
“We are challenged to keep living right!” Adejumobi shared, adding, “We are challenged to make eternity our ultimate pursuit!” His words captured the enduring impact of Arẹ́’s life, encouraging others to follow his path.
In another post, Adejumobi reflected on Baba Gbenro’s dedication, saying, “we are celebrating the life of a man who touched many lives and left an indelible legacy.”
Rather than mourning, Adejumobi expressed gratitude, recognising Baba Arẹ́’s journey as one of purpose and dedication.
“Now go and enjoy the reward of all your investment in heaven,” he continued, affirming a legacy he believed would be honoured beyond this world.
Another renowned gospel filmmaker, Shola Mike Agboola, in a Facebook post also mourned Arẹ́’s passing.
He shared how he had awoken with a strong urge to pray for him, which he did, but said the feeling remained.
“I had a heavier burden to call you, to hear your voice, encourage and pray for you,” Agboola wrote.
“I did. You did not pick the call. Of course, I just tried because you had earlier sent me a post intimating me with the situation of things, and the fact that you might not be disposed to phone conversations. The burden still refused to leave me…”
Agboola continued, “I composed and sent you a WhatsApp message. I NEVER KNEW… I never knew that when my message landed on your phone, you had barely an hour left on this side of eternity.”
“About an hour afterwards, you removed your costume and went backstage. You laid down your sword and went back home to be with the LORD whom you loved so dearly, and served so passionately. You left us to continue to run the race…”
Agboola added, “There is so much more to say about your very beautiful soul but, for now, I will just say, GOOD NIGHT DR MOSES KOREDE ARE. Personally, I will miss you.
“I and other Drama Ministers are still struggling to come to terms with this shocking reality that you are no longer here with us but, in all, we submit to the will of our unquestionable God. SIBE OLUWA DARA, bo ti wu ko ri (Still, the Lord is good, no matter what happens). Shalom!”
