President Bola Tinubu has voiced his deep concern over the devastating flooding that has struck Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
The flooding, considered the worst in recent decades, has displaced thousands of residents and disrupted key facilities, including the Maiduguri Post Office and the Teaching Hospital.
In a heartfelt message, President Tinubu extended his condolences to the government and people of Borno State, particularly to families who have lost their homes and livelihoods as a result of the disaster caused by the overflow of the Alau Dam.
As damage assessments continue, the President has called for the immediate evacuation of residents from the hardest-hit areas to prevent further harm.
He assured Governor Babagana Umara Zulum that the Federal Government is ready to collaborate with state authorities to address the urgent humanitarian needs of those affected by the flood.
President Tinubu has also directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide prompt assistance to the victims and stressed his commitment to mobilizing federal resources to support Borno State during this challenging time.
