Nigeria’s lower chamber, the House of Representatives has confirmed the appointment of Service Chiefs after they scaled through the House’s screening.
The Ad-hoc Committee, which screened the nominees presented to the House by President Bola Tinubu recently, presented its report before the Committee of the Whole House on Wednesday,
The service chiefs confirmed are Maj. Gen. Christopher Musa (Chief of Defence Staff), Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja (Chief of Army Staff), Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla (Chief of Naval Staff), and AVM Hassan Abubakar (Chief of Air Staff).
The Chairman of the Adhoc Committee of the House, Babajimi Benson, had said members of the Armed Forces must adhere strictly to the provisions of the Appropriation Act and urged them to work in synergy by sharing intelligence.
Tinubu had in June sacked the former service chiefs and presented them to the Senate and the House of Representatives for screening and approval.
