United States President Donald J. Trump has issued a Christmas message laced with sharp political commentary, using the festive occasion to defend his record and attack his critics.
In a post shared on his official social media handle on Christmas Day, Trump extended seasonal greetings to Americans while launching a scathing rebuke of what he described as the “Radical Left,” accusing them of attempting, unsuccessfully, he said, to undermine the country.
The president claimed that several controversial policies had been decisively reversed, declaring an end to open borders, what he called “men in women’s sports,” expansive transgender policies, and weak law enforcement.
He asserted that these changes had contributed to what he described as renewed national stability and strength.
Trump also highlighted what he portrayed as strong economic indicators, citing a record-breaking stock market and growth in retirement savings through 401(k) accounts.
He further claimed that crime rates were at their lowest levels in decades and insisted that inflation had been eliminated.
Referencing recent economic data, Trump pointed to a reported 4.3 per cent Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, which he said exceeded expectations by two percentage points.
He credited tariffs with generating “trillions of dollars” in growth and prosperity for the U.S. economy.
On national security, Trump maintained that the country was enjoying its strongest security posture ever and said the United States had regained global respect “perhaps like never before.”
He concluded the message with a patriotic flourish, invoking divine blessings on the nation. “God Bless America,” he wrote, signing off as “President DJT.”
The post has since sparked widespread reactions online, drawing both support from loyal followers and criticism from opponents who dispute his claims and tone, even on a day traditionally associated with goodwill and unity.
