President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after a ten-day working visit to Lagos, where he combined official duties with high-level engagements.
Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday, 26 September, following his attendance at the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, in Ibadan.
During his stay in Lagos, the President met with prominent investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, Chief Executive Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, Chairman of Metis Capital Partners and former Chairman of UBA and Etisalat.
He also received the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Mr Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and top industry regulators.
President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s maritime industry into a sustainable economic alternative to fossil fuel.
Ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, President Tinubu travelled to Imo State, where he commissioned several projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled a book authored by the governor documenting a decade of APC governance in Nigeria.
He delivered the Independence Day national broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks, and later commissioned the newly renovated National Theatre-renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, urging Nigerians to speak positively about their nation.
On Saturday, 4 October, the President visited Jos, Plateau State, to attend the funeral of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC Chairman Professor Nantawe Yilwatda.
In his remarks, he paid tribute to the late matriarch and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fairness and equity among Nigeria’s religious communities.
