Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is set to inaugurate the Babafemi Dada Road with Bridge and the Yinka Folarin-Jamiu Lawal-Shalom Academy Road Network in Alimosho Local Government Area on Monday, 16 December 2024.
These projects form part of the 36 roads and five bridges slated for commissioning by the Lagos State Government this month.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, disclosed this during a press briefing on Saturday in Alausa, Ikeja.
“It is worth noting that despite the global economic challenges and rising inflation, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has prioritised the completion of both new and ongoing infrastructure projects,” Omotoso said.
Highlighting the significance of the projects, he added, “The Babafemi Dada Road with Bridge is a vital link that will ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between Igando and Ayobo communities. The project underscores the administration’s commitment to sustainable development and creating effective bypasses in areas prone to gridlocks.”
The Babafemi Dada Road with Bridge-Yinka Folarin-Jamiu Lawal-Shalom Academy Road Network is a 1.57km semi-rigid pavement road featuring a 250-metre deck-on-pile bridge.
It provides a direct link between the LASU-Iba Road at Idowu Egba bus stop and Candos Road at Academy bus stop in the Baruwa community.
Omotoso described the initiative as a testament to the foresight of Governor Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat in delivering critical infrastructure to the people of Lagos.
The projects are expected to significantly improve the quality of life for residents, reduce travel times, and promote economic activities in the Alimosho area.
