A former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has said President Bola Tinubu and other political class are the bandits against Nigeria.
The Alarmee reports that Ezekwesili spoke in an interview on Channels TV, while kicking against the purchase of a new aircraft when the masses are hungry.
Ezekwesili admitted that the aircraft that is being replaced is 19 years old, but said it was bought as a new aircraft.
“I am upset that these fellows will dare to play with the intelligent of the Nigerian public, between the presidency, national assembly, they have decided that they are the bandits.
“The political class have decided that they are the bandits against Nigeria. I do not see how it is feasible that the topmost priority of a govt that has this level of hunger, and poverty will consider the purchase of a befitting aircraft for the president, the construction of a N20bn home for the vice president, the purchase of all kinds of funny looking cars on the fleet of the National Assembly members and the executive.
“What exactly is that and I speak with a lot of moral authority, I served this country, they want everything about what I earned? You can find it in their folders.
“As a minister, they had what was called minister’s impress or so, my permanent secretary will tell you till tomorrow that I did not touch it. When people said all these things “where you not in government?” I was in a sane government, I wasn’t in a government that watches women screaming ‘ebi pa wa, ebi pa wa’ we are hungry, we haven’t eaten,” Ezekwesili said.
