Mohammed Idris, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation said on Monday that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted visa ban on Nigeria.
UAE had imposed a visa ban on Nigeria nearly two years ago due to various diplomatic disputes.
But Idris told newsmen in Abuja on Monday that the Nigerian government had reached agreement with UAE effective from today.
He said Nigerian passport passport holders intending to travel to the UAE could now do so.
The minister added that Nigeria had been discussing with the United Arab Emirates the issue of visas for Nigerian passport holders going to the their country.
According to him, “Today, an agreement has been reached on that, and effective from today 15th July, Nigerian passport holders are able to obtain visas to go to the United Arab Emirates.”
Idris said details of would be provided to journalists later in the day when they put out a statement.
