The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas has confirmed the death of prominent Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Jnr. Pope.
Junior Pope and three other crew members were said to have died on Wednesday after a boat mishap on River Niger.
The AGN later said the actor was alive and receiving treatment at a hospital.
But Rollas, early Thursday morning, said the AGN’s joy was shortlived and confirmed Junior Pope’s deminse.
“It’s so so sad that our joy was shortlived. My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers.
“Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best.
We finally lost him.
“Mr Friday corpse has been identified but three other corpses are yet to be found,” Rollas lamented.
The late actor was 39 years old and is survived by his wife and three children. He had acted in over 150 movies.
