The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday granted N20 million bail to the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
The presiding Judge, Nicholas Oweibo granted Emefiele N20 million bail bond with one surety in like sum.
The surety must be a landed property owner in Ikoyi area of Lagos State.
The court ordered him to be remanded at the Correctional Centre pending when he met the bail condition
9had pleaded not to the two counts bordering on the alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The suspended CBN Governor is facing two counts of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition preferred against him by the Federal Ministry of Justice.
The judge rejected the prosecuting counsel’s claim that Emefiele was a flight risk.
The judge ruled that the prosecutor failed to provide any fact to support its claim.
