The Department of State Services (DSS) has re-arrested the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele in court.
Emefiele was granted bail by the Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos in the sum of N20 million with one surety in like sum.
Oweibo had ordered that he be remanded at the correctional centre until he met his bail condition.
A skirmish ensued between the DSS and officials of the Nigerian Correctional Centre (NCS) over who should take custody of Emefiele.
A prison official was dragged by the DSS operatives from the courtroom into the premises and had his cloth torn,
The DSS regained control over Emefiele, led him out of the courtroom into a waiting van and whisked him away.
Emefiele was arraigned by the Federal Ministry of Justice for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition but was granted bail in the sum of N20m with one surety, following his “not guilty” plea.
