President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will ultimately defeat terrorism, banditry and all forms of criminality threatening peace and stability across the country.
Tinubu gave the assurance in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, where he urged citizens not to lose hope despite persistent security challenges confronting some communities.
The President said although terrorists and bandits still carry out attacks in parts of the country, the government remained determined to crush all forces of evil and restore lasting peace nationwide.
“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” Tinubu declared.
He noted that the sacrifices being made by Nigerians, alongside the reforms introduced by his administration over the past three years, were beginning to yield positive results for the economy and national security.
According to him, the country’s economic reforms, though difficult, were necessary to rebuild Nigeria and secure a more prosperous future for coming generations.
Tinubu expressed optimism that the nation had emerged from its difficult economic phase, saying the country was now witnessing signs of stability and renewed investor confidence.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President stated.
He added that Nigeria was gradually becoming a preferred investment destination capable of driving economic growth and job creation.
Speaking on security, Tinubu commended the efforts of the nation’s security and intelligence agencies, particularly referencing the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader.
He, however, acknowledged that criminal elements continued to pose threats in some areas and stressed that the government would sustain aggressive security operations to protect lives and property.
The President called on Nigerians, especially Muslim faithful, to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for peace, unity and progress in the country.
Tinubu also urged citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, compassion and selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
“One central lesson of Eid-el-Kabir is the call to show mercy and compassion regardless of race, ethnicity or creed,” he said.
The President appealed to Nigerians to support the less privileged and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence across the country.
He further warned criminals and those involved in acts of violence to abandon their evil ways or face the full force of the law.
“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” he added.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria where citizens can live without fear, worship freely and pursue their aspirations.
He said the government would continue investing heavily in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development to unlock the nation’s full potential.
The President wished Muslims a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration and prayed for continued peace, unity and progress for Nigeria.
