Former Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has publicly dismissed a “rumour making the rounds” about his demise, assuring the public that he is alive and in excellent health.
The former governor’s statement, released on his Facebook page on Friday was prompted by a wave of concern and speculation regarding his wellbeing.
In a direct address to “my beloved Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers,” Obiano moved swiftly to quell the misinformation.
“Let me assure you personally,” the statement read, leaving no room for ambiguity. “I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health. By the special grace of God, I am doing very well.”
Obiano expressed his disappointment at the circulation of the false report.
He characterized the act as a dissemination of “falsehood simply for reasons yet to be established,” but struck a resilient tone, vowing that “we will continue to rise above such mischief.”
The former governor also took a moment to express his gratitude to those who had reached out to him upon hearing the unsettling news.
“To everyone who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers, I sincerely appreciate your concern,” he stated, adding that “Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express.”
He called on the public to completely disregard the rumour and a reaffirmation of his personal resolve.
“Please disregard the rumour entirely,” Obiano urged. “We remain focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace.”
