Bayern Munich are ramping up their efforts to secure the signature of Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson before the summer transfer window closes on Monday, September 1, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Alarmee reports that with just days remaining, the German giants are pushing to outmaneuver English rivals and finalise a deal for the 24-year-old Senegalese striker.
Romano reported X that Bayern are “insisting to get [the] Nicolas Jackson deal done even before Monday and ahead of Deadline Day.”
The club’s urgency stems from a desire to bolster their attacking options under manager Vincent Kompany, particularly to complement star striker Harry Kane.
Bayern’s direct talks with Chelsea have intensified, with discussions focusing on a potential loan deal that includes an obligation to buy, a structure Chelsea reportedly favor over a straight loan or an option-to-buy arrangement.
The Bavarians have been in contact with Chelsea since Monday, August 25, and have already secured a verbal agreement on personal terms with Jackson, who is open to the move.
Bayern’s determination to finalise the deal quickly is driven by competition from Premier League clubs, notably Newcastle United and Aston Villa, who have also made inquiries about the striker in recent days.
Chelsea’s willingness to let Jackson go is tied to their crowded attacking roster, bolstered by summer signings Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, and Estevao.
Manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed Jackson’s diminished role, leaving him out of the squad for a recent match against West Ham.
The Blues are reportedly holding out for a permanent transfer or a loan with a mandatory purchase clause, with a valuation around £80m, though negotiations could see that figure lowered.
