President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his scheduled trip to Ogun State, originally planned for Thursday to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Iperu.
This is contained in a statement issued by Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday.
Onanuga said the President would instead travel to Jos, the capital of Plateau State, to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the recent gun attacks that claimed the lives of several innocent citizens.
He stated that from Plateau, the President would proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday.
Onanuga added that on Saturday, April 4, President Tinubu would visit Ogun State for the commissioning of the Gateway International Cargo Airport and the inauguration of two commercial aircraft meant for the export and import of goods.
The Special Adviser noted that the aircraft initiative is aimed at boosting economic growth and improving trade logistics in the state.
Onanuga further disclosed that the President would also inaugurate the new edifice of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigerian Customs Service and its operational vehicles during the same visit.
He revealed that after the Ogun State engagement, President Tinubu would return to Lagos to continue his Easter holiday.
Onanuga said during this period, the President is expected to commission several major infrastructure projects executed by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He listed the projects to include the iconic Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System (LAGIS) Building, the Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, and a new school complex.
Onanuga added that before returning to Abuja, President Tinubu would visit Bayelsa State on April 10 to commission some completed projects undertaken by Governor Douye Diri.
