The Federal Government says that Paul Onwuanibe, the owner of Landmark, has no claim of ownership over the beachfront where he built a resort.
The Alarmee reports that the Federal Government has begun demolition of part of Landmark Resort to pave way for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, while addressing newsmen on Tuesday, stated that the government took all the necessary steps to safeguard existing infrastructure before pulling down some structures on the Landmark Beach.
Umahi added that Onwuanibe had no legal Right of Way on the path the government planned to build the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
According to him, “He has no claim, we spared all his infrastructure. We don’t pay for shanties and even if shanties are on our Right of Way it is 50m from our shoreline so there is no claim. We made all the efforts to spare all his infrastructure.”
