Nigeria’s 100m hurdler, Tobi Amusan says she looked forward to defending her title at the World Athletics Championship next week after she was cleared of doping.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) had lifted the provisional suspension on Amusan after she was accused of missing three whereabouts within a year.
However, AIU reviewed the suspension on Thursday after a panel of Disciplinary Tribunal found that Amusan did not commit an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV).
Amusan, who holds the world championship and world record in the women’s event, said on her Facebook page that she was thankful to God that she had been cleared.
“This morning I found out that the Independent Tribunal that heard my case has ruled that I did not violate the whereabouts rules and as a result, I will not be sanctioned & none of my results will be precluded.
“I am thrilled to put this behind me, and I look forward to defending my title at next week’s World Championships. I generally have been & consistently will be an ally of CLEAN SPORT.
“To my Five Fingers; God is the greatest & I genuinely appreciate y’‘all for the support…,” she said.
