Two former Governors who are ministerial nominees have met with President Bola Tinubu in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
The former governors are Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who has not yet been confirmed a minister by the nation’s Upper Chamber, the senate, and Nyesom Wike of Rivers, who has been confirmed a minister.
The two former governors were said to have arrived the State House, Abuja separately to meet with the president, but the duo have entered into closed doors meeting with Tinubu.
The Senate had on Monday refused to confirmed the appointment of El-Rufai as a minister. They said they are still awaiting security clearance over the matter.
It is not clear why the former Kaduna State Governor is meeting with the president, but it might not be unconnected with his non-confirmation by the Senate.
