Nigerians are in trouble as the price of fuel has jumped to N617 per litre, with outlets of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited adjusting to the new price.
The Independent Marketers have also adjusted their pump price to reflect the new increase, as more pains are being heaped on Nigerians.
NNPC outlets in the Federal Capital, Abuja have already adjusted their price to reflect the new increase.
A top source close to NNPCL said there has actually been hike in the price of the commodity.
The Nigerian government had removed fuel subsidy paving way for astronomical rise in the price of petrol, with attendant hardship on Nigeria.
President Bola Tinubu had during his inaugural speech on 29 May, 2023 said fuel subsidy was gone forever.
The N8,000 per household being proposed to cushion the effect of the removal of subsidy has been largely criticised by Nigerians, especially when N70 billion has been voted for the National Assembly for cars and others.
