Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Professor Ayodeji Olawumi Badejo (née Faji) as vice-chancellor of Lagos State University, Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso said on Wednesday.
Omotoso stated that Badejo, a professor of guidance and counselling, succeeds Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure has expired.
Badejo was born on 4 August 1962. She holds a Master of Education and a doctorate in guidance and counselling from the University of Lagos.
The commissioner presented the appointment as the governor’s decision to install a new head of the state university after Olatunji-Bello’s retirement at the end of her term.
Further details of Badejo’s start date and the composition of her incoming administration were not included in the brief statement issued from the information ministry.
