In a swift and fearless operation, gallant troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have successfully rescued three kidnapped victims in a dramatic turn of events along the Barkin Ladi-Mangu road in Mairana village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to intelligence sources, the daring rescue unfolded on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, after security operatives received a tip-off about the abduction.
Zagazola Makama a counter-insurgency security expert, said the victims were reportedly seized at about 7:45 a.m., their fate hanging in the balance as their abductors vanished into the wilderness. But the kidnappers’ luck ran out when troops from Sector 8 of Operation Golden Peace stormed the area in a high-stakes mission to track them down.
On arrival, the troops discovered a red Ford Space Bus, eerily abandoned by the roadside—a chilling reminder of the victims’ ordeal. Without hesitation, the soldiers plunged into the dense surrounding bushes, weapons drawn, as they pursued the criminals.
Sensing imminent capture, the kidnappers fled in terror, abandoning their captives to escape the relentless advance of the security forces. Moments later, the three victims emerged—shaken but unharmed, their ordeal finally over.
In a triumphant conclusion, the rescued individuals were reunited with their vehicle and continued their journey to safety, thanks to the swift and courageous intervention of the troops.
