Celebrated Nigerian media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa, has announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl, at the age of 40.
In an emotional Instagram post, Makinwa described her daughter as a long-awaited blessing and the fulfilment of her prayers.
“I’m a Mommy… This is the happiest I’ve ever been. My precious daughter, the love I never knew existed, my heart in another human being, my love,” she wrote.
The new mother revealed that she has named her baby Yakira Eliana, which she explained means “Precious, Beloved of great worth, My God has answered.”
She also gave her daughter other names, including Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, and Adunola.
Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, Makinwa said: “I have seen the goodness of God in my lifetime, I have seen God move and I no longer just hear of it, I see it. It ended in praise, My miracle is here.”
She expressed gratitude to her daughter for “choosing her” and for making her a mother, proudly signing off her announcement as “Mama Yaya,” a name that reflects her new identity in motherhood.
