President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mairiga Aliyu Katuka as the Chairman of the Board of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The Alarmee reports that Tinubu also appointed Emomotimi Agama as the Director-General of SEC.
The appointments are contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Friday.
Ngelale said Tinubu has approved the appointment of Nigerian professionals to the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Also appointed into the board is Frana Chukwuogor as the Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement), while Mr. Bola Ajomale is the Executive Commissioner (Operations).
Mrs. Samiya Hassan Usman has been appointed the Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services) of the board while Mr. Lekan Belo and Mr. Kasimu Garba Kurfi have been appointed as Non-Executive Commissioners.
Ngelale said the president anticipated that all members of the Board of this critical commission would bring to bear their wealth of experience and competence in advancing the commission’s core mandate of developing and regulating a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient, to bolster investor confidence and contribute immeasurably to the nation’s economic development.
